A classic track, lots of overtaking and with a good finish - what you really want more? The IndyCar Series has still not managed to lure fans to the stands. And ABC's infomercial drove them from the screens.

And another lost opportunity. The Milwaukee Mile is the historical reason Indy cars, even in the 1990s, 50,000 fans flocked to the CART series on race day at the track. After a year off this year we went back again. And was greeted by only about 15,000 visitors. Too bad. Not least because the race was well worth seeing. If you got to see something because of it. Because more often than the action of the track showed ABC's Sunday unfortunately advertisements. After all: The final phase was to see it without commercial interruption. Whether that's enough to even this weekend to create excitement, to be seen. A major problem has been temporarily averted but Indycar times: The two U.S. boys Ryan Hunter-Reay and Graham Rahal will remain the first series.
