Grand Am: Analysis of the 50th 24 Hours of Daytona

Was a fantastic very acceptable 24-hour race with a deadline of 4 hours there this weekend at Daytona International Speedway to see. Contributed to the good impression the TV broadcast, including stream, high attendances and a surprise winner.

The prototypes

The initial phase was the prototype for a very quiet except for the troops of SunTrust Racing. The car ran into technical problems early on, and a few hours after starting the car unfortunately had to leave irreparable damage to engine stand in the box. Thus one of the favorites was eliminated early in the race. In the first hours after the start of the first two vehicles took over from Chip Ganassi Racing, the lead and drove all the prototypes in a certain respectful distance behind each other. WTCC: The blue years

The FIA World Touring Car Championship of 2011 was not a good year. Little cars, little competition, little variety. We must thank Chevrolet yet.

Actually, you can deal with the WTCC this year in two sentences: Chevrolet wins behind everyone else go. Basically, this is unfortunately true, but if you go into detail, I do agree, not quite. Sure, the Cruze was the car that could not be beat, but he was also the only car factory, who had been on the show. However, BMW and Seat reach at least a couple earns respect, which should not be forgotten. Sure, the "breadcrumbs" are, where you had to hold this year. It is also clear that the WTCC in the mold can not survive. It has to happen something, and it does seem well.

We must thank Chevrolet yet.

BTCC: The 2011 season

Actually, it was clear even before the season, who will champion this year. But a number of rule changes were responsible for a decision but that fell at the last race.

The 2011 season saw the BTCC in a fairly wide-ranging review, which should make for some confusion, however. The TOCA behind the BTCC had, in recent years, a class of its own succession plans for the vehicles that were following the regulations of the FIA S2000 in England on the road. The acquisition of the S2000 had the advantage that manufacturers could use their cars in the world. Although the FIA had also bolted to the rules and introduced the 1.6 liter turbo / engine world, but that was the BTCC. Because of the high cost of the S2000, which caused many starters for sparse field, it was decided to introduce a separate formula. The NGTC has its own chassis that was developed by the TOCA, and for the most part, a unit chassis for the entire series. With the engine, it was decided to occupy a 2-liter turbocharged engine set. ADAC GT Masters / FIA GT: Report € Speedway / Ordos

While the GT Championship at Lausitz handed in two very exciting race, China had a surprise winner.

So far, Porsche was in the GT Masters tend not to be found again. BTCC / WTCC: Preview Knockhill & Valencia

Again a double header of two touring car series, and thus a better comparison of the power density in both series.

The season has been quite BTTC given rise to joy. There were some spectacular races, others were a bit tired. But in the championship, there are some surprises. The feared domination of the Honda team has failed, even as the TOCA NGTC slowed the turbos in the course of the year again. Last but not least also because Chevrolet, and Jason Plato has found several significant words. You do not want to lose the RML team for sure, so you got something against them. Has benefited them, but strangely enough, Chevrolet only. The S2000 also traveling with an old BMW engine is a chance this year. That will not change even in Scotland.

NASCAR: Analysis of Michigan August 2011

The most boring race of the year so far delivered the NASCAR from Michigan on Sunday. After 200 laps and a very late caution period, which briefly brought some tension at the end of Kyle Busch won, even though it initially looked like a Ford day. The tough race but nevertheless caused much discussion.

If one can say that both Pocono races this year were better than the second-Michigan 2011 edition, then that speaks volumes already. Of course, the Michigan International Speedway is not exactly known for great power, but, contrary to the norm, there was neither a crime nor gasoline to an interesting race last quarter. A Caution fires just before the finish, due to a puncture of Kurt Busch, who had probably picked up this wall after some contact with oversteer could, but no one of the most complete car in the field of Kyle Busch are still dangerous.

The World Touring Car Championship makes a stop in Germany and drive on the winding course of Oschersleben. Surprises can not be expected.
