The season is over - for racing overall a year of ups and downs. A personal look back to 2011.
Like every year, the racing looks back on the blog team racing 2011 season and picked out the raisins. The personal flashbacks appear further in the coming days.
Best race: There were some races this year, but none were so intense and remained so in my memory like the Chase Race NASCAR and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
In NASCAR, it is of course the absolute madness race in Homestead, which one may wish for more of a finale? I can not think of anything. The absolute Cinderella Story by Tony-"I was in the regular season winning any races, but waiting times at the Chase" Stewart, who was actually out with a fist big hole in the grille, it then but still managed to do what He had to. He won the race ahead of Edwards, the only sure way to get the championship. The whole race was an incredible tension in the air that ESPN did not trust himself to destroy too many commercial breaks. Very very big race is one of the top 5 of my life.
The 24 Hours of Le Mans were just as intense as the last few years. It's crazy how the long-distance races have developed in general. The sprint races are always, it is practically gone all the time full. To what can this lead, you've seen on the two major accidents in the Audi Le Mans. All the more impressive it was to see in the sequel as the Peugeot tried the only remaining to Audi, "to rush to death" and this then makes the impossible possible and win. This was again very, very big race.
