Preview: LMS-Saisonfinale/ILMC-Auftakt at Silverstone

The 1000km of Silverstone this weekend are at the same time the finals of the 2010 season, the European Le Mans Series as well as the prelude to the first edition of the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup - short ILMC - accordingly, there are the expectations and the number of participants.

Update after practice Friday:

The first day at Silverstone is over. In the morning it was still pretty wet, but the LMS training were in the afternoon and in accordance with reasonably dry, except during a short drizzle showers. In the first session and a brief safety car was pushed in practice, since one is working as usual in the LMS with two of these vehicles.

The times from the first practice is not really relevant, in the second it went through a few more road abgetrockneter seconds faster around the course. And then there was double-Peugeot front, where the # 1 (non-whiteness, whether or Minassian Davidson) just before the end it still took 1'43 .9, some 1.2 seconds faster than the leading up to that Oreca sister car. The Kristensen / McNish Audi missing on this car about 0.7 seconds, which is just under 1.9 on the Peugeot factory. That is a distance related, since Audi will conjure up a little tomorrow, must unless you have now bricked, but hardly what I think. Next throttle →

NASCAR: Richmond Preview September 2010

On the weekend guest of the Sprint Cup at the Richmond International Raceway to award the last two chase pitches. The last race before the playoffs is, fortunately, the night before last race of the year. In addition, with Mattias Ekström is a European at the start.

The Richmond International Raceway is for short-track action on a short oval, which provides generally good racing. Similar to Bristol or Martinsville, it is close to the point, but in Richmond is a little more room. The track can be due to the curved start / finish straight wonderful ride around, only when entering the back straight on the wall, one must make, which is heading quickly to the right of the car. As said called line is not bent, the braking and turning into Turn 3 also made some abrupt. Those who during the 400 laps on the night between Saturday and Sunday can not get out of the rest, who in the end after a successful set-up work on the car a chance to ride in the "victory lane". The night race thus shows once again the teams to cope with the changing conditions at best.
