ALMS: Petit Le Mans 2010 Preview

At the end of the season is on, as always, another highlight of the prototypes. The 10 Hour Race Road Atlanta is once again largely silencing exchange between Audi and Peugeot.

First a word about the availability of live images from the race. As already written yesterday, cable MotorsTV Germany has taken something of a surprise from the program. The French were amazed at how you can read from the opinion. Germany Cable customers have unfortunately no way to see the race, unless they go available on the net in search of a stream. SpeedTV shows the race itself, unfortunately, not on the website, so you will have to fish in troubled waters. We try chatting to one or the other stream to point. Unitymedia, Hansenet and T-Home customers are not affected by the problem. What is with Kabel BW, I can not tell. We will do our best here to provide a live blog on the legs. However, I am to noon Saturday at Oschersleben, so it might be a bit short. Otherwise, I recommend the combination of Radio Le Mans and live timing . But now the race.

TV rights: MotorsTV cable away from Germany

Motorsport fans have it easy in Germany do not. Now is also MotorsTV flown in Germany from the cable program.

Update: MotorsTV has replied to my request and sent the following statement.

Cable Germany has unilaterally decided to stop broadcasting of TV engine. We are unfortunately not in a position to do something about it, and are forced to accept their decision after six years of brutal charisma of our channel on their cable networks. Motors TV is of course very interested in the German market, and regretted exceedingly that the subscribers of cable Germany no longer able to follow their preferred Championship on Motors TV. Germany's cable was not even willing to extend the broadcast at least until the end of 2010 to allow subscribers to track the season in 2010 until the end. Motors TV would like to point out that the station still receive the majority of the German cable networks and also part of the IPTV service from T-Online and is HanseNet.

Apparently they were surprised at MotorsTV just as the audience, even if KD announced the shutdown to the station well in the short term.

-Snip-

Since Wednesday evening, contrary to the customers of the cable lights up Germany "premium package" an ugly yellow sign when they turn on MotorsTV. It says only tersely that the station is now no longer part of the package of cable Germany. Way is also ESPN Classic, which motor sport fans but rather cope. Both transmitter and KD is about to broadcast FOX Sport 1 +. The loss of MotorsTV is pretty harsh, because there is no way to the station via satellite or streamed to get into the house. This eliminates many of the fans racing series that you could only see on MotorsTV. Among them are:

- ALMS
- V8 Supercars
- Various GT series, including the live transmission of the GT3 European Championship
- British F3
- Car GP
- WRC

All these series are no longer receiving a legal copy of the Austrahlungsgebiet KD. Only customers of Unitymedia and T-Home can still see MotorsTV.

Interesting also that cables in Germany almost Stalinist fashion two transmitters off easily without the customer at least a few days earlier to inform you by treadmill. By mail, it would be gone, after all, one ends up with me every few weeks stupid spam mail A letter comes to advertising and Internet customers of cable Germany in the mailbox. If money for such nonsense as is also the way you could even announce what will change for the customer.

Unfortunately, racing fans are going to continue into the net and sent on a quest for more or less legal streams. I have both cable Germany, and MotorsTV asked for an opinion.

Also-rans: The News Happen

/ / Well, it could still be in the coming year so far: Bernie Ecclestone in an interview with the BBC has announced that the FOTA will produce possibly as early as 2011 all Formula 1 races in HD. If the statement seems a little vague: For in the same breath he also thinks that there will be the signal only when it is safe provided that everything in "top quality" exists - which is likely to be "probably in 2012's" The Fall. After all: Fans of high-resolution images can now hope again. And with them sky that would sichsicher delighted to market this new feature exclusively. (Caution)

/ / If it ever since transferred: Because according to testimony from sky sports chief Carsten Schmidt in the Stuttgarter Nachrichten , Formula 1 is the German pay-TV "on trial". Reason: Apparently can be won with the top tier no new customers - the preservation of existing customers to play in this calculation probably no more important role. The problem is mainly in the fact that the competition of the transfer on RTL on free TV is too big. Instead, Sky wants to focus on sports that are not in Germany to receive free of charge. How well this strategy has worked, shows the resounding success of the Sky broadcasts of NASCAR or the IndyCar Series, but also the many other sports that are currently in the rich, not to say you can admire "rich" range of the transmitter. Of course, one can consider the statement as a tactic in the negotiations currently taking place with Bernie Ecclestone - but there are the "Stuttgarter Nachrichten", with all due respect, really the medium of choice? See also the entry of yesterday . (caution)

TV rights: No more Formula 1 on sky?

First it was just a rumor now has it been officially confirmed sky. You consider taking the Formula One from the program.

Since the beginning of the year makes the rumor that his long-time sky coverage of Formula One at the end of the set, because the contract with Ecclestone expires in late 2010. The reasons are varied. The station continues to save hochdefizitär and must in every nook and cranny. Bernie Ecclestone sold the rights to the FOM, but not at a knockdown price, especially not when Vettel and Schumacher, Mercedes and other German contender win a lot of traveling on the road. 2007, during the last rounds of the TV rights, the FOM has reportedly agreed to a freeze on license fees grudgingly, but the 2010 will be different. Not only because of Vettel, but also because Ecclestone has to compensate the revenue loss from the organizers (Canada, Spa, England, Germany). Previously, it was almost inconceivable that sky give up the F1 rights. After all, the F1 was considered as a second pillar of the transmitter, which calculates to be DF1, since nearly 20 15 years from all the racetracks live report. sky-Board member Carsten Schmidt has now confirmed, however, that the F1 would be on the "test".

NASCAR: Dover September 2010 analysis

This time, in Dover, Jimmie Johnson is not the misfortune, but the long leader AJ Allmendinger. It had a puncture is not pushed back, the first Cup victory would have been possible. Instead, Johnson was a late reward after vergeigten spring race at Dover International Speedway.

This week Time Champion Jimmie Johnson, luck was once again hold after being in New Hampshire still finished as the last of the twelve chase the race. Formula One: Singapore Grand Prix analysis

A very eventful race in Singapore, even though the race was splashing seemingly long before him. But there was plenty of action later.

When it comes to the final stages of a championship, the race is not necessarily better. The World Cup candidates are nervous and are more cautious in the race, because a complete failure can be difficult to cope in the fall. This often means that the races are static, and because risk the top teams in terms of strategy, not much more. But the race in Singapore saw courageous decisions and two title contenders who came to the enclosure. Further down the field was rolled right through it and fought hard. On a track where you really can not get over really well, there were still some interesting maneuvers that were not always good. It was so varied and the race result has made the championship more exciting. Factored especially when working with a possible rejection of the Korean GP.

NASCAR: Dover Preview September 2010

The second Chase race takes place this weekend at Dover, and some drivers have to make many good points. One of them is just the New Hampshire winner Clint Bowyer. A massive point deduction due to a rule violation threw him far behind.

Clint Bowyer won last Sunday's first race of the Chase in New Hampshire and moved in at number 2 in the points behind leader Denny Hamlin right before. A super start, which was now, however, slowed by NASCAR. The story begins one week in advance, however, in Richmond: After the local race officials took the car with the # 33 under their wing and brought it to Concord, North Carolina from in-house R & D center for more detailed inspection. It turned out that Richard Childress Racing fairly narrowly on the work by the templates specified dimensions. Although the car was within a valid parameter in terms of dimensions and distances, but it was enough for NASCAR uttered a warning to RCR, not to exceed the line.
