A couple of good races provided the touring cars from the weekend. Even the DTM had to hide.
The BTCC Silverstone made in station and arrived there the "national" version. The imperative now is not necessarily suitable for touring. There are not enough corners, the track is with a lap time of 1 minute now, not just long, so there's little opportunity for action. Added to this was that weekend that Ford was hit on the fast track no. The speed advantage of the gas-powered Ford had already seen the entire season, especially at Snetterton, where Onslow-Cole and Chilton were on the long straight the rest of the field are simple. At Silverstone, was laid out in the qualification of such a speed that the series-makers saw at last compelled to intervene. The air restrictor was reduced, reducing the boost pressure. It was of but little.
Race One
Already in the first race there was nothing you could do against the braked Ford. Cole and Chilton moved out front, behind the rows of Plato and a MacDowell in the Chevrolet Cruze. As expected, both Honda's hard to be doing with Matt Neal and Gordon Shedden. The Civic is lacking on the long straight just to power, it is called 15 to 20 hp, the missing two. Although the top speed adjusts to some extent, but in terms of acceleration is just not as much as you could see from the onboard shots.
In the first round did little at the front, then came Matt Neal was going so slow printing. He was lying in eighth place, before he drove Steven Kane in the BMW, which also was not right good go. The fight should go to the end of the race, and only in the last round of Kane made a mistake and Neal won a few important points.
Front, there was a little strange exchange of positions between the leading up to that Onslow-Cole and Max Chilton. It must be said that team orders are not specifically prohibited in the BTCC, but they are of sporty / moral reasons not appreciated when it is not absolutely necessary. Cole stated after the race, he had connected himself. Well, yes. The maneuver brought within striking distance of Plato, who was also briefly Cole over, but then again aufgeschnupft was on the line. At the end of Chilton won against Cole, Plato, MacDowell, Jordan, Collard, O'Neill, Neal, Kane, Shedden.
Race Two
The Ford went loose again in the lead, but both pilots were gone bad Chevy. MacDowell dropped to 9, Plato had to Andrew Jordan and Rob Collard in the Honda Integra can happen in the BMW, Matt Neal curved around on 7th place. Long did nothing in the race, which really is rather unusual in the BTCC. A puncture of the unfortunate Andrew Jordan took 3rd place but then again movement. After Ford had already swapped places (this time there was no "excuse") whose front tire went slowly down the drain. Apparently eating the massive torque of the turbo engine, the tires a little faster than the rest of the field. Towards the end of the race, Rob Collard, who had long held back, very tight, and snapped in two remarkable and typical British maneuvers Onslow-Cole. Twice he sat down next to Cole Luffield entrance and pushed him gently but firmly to the side. In the first experiment Cole grabbed the BMW back on the straight, the second attempt Collard then continued in the last round, which also went well.
Further back from Matt Neal labored on, to come forward, however, was in a very tight battle with the integration of pilot Paul O'Neill, who did not give an inch. The struggle between the two was exciting, the courts were often exchanged. But in the end then sat down with Neal very scarce. Result: Chilton, Collard, Cole, Plato, Neal, O'Neill, Shedden, Kane, MacDowell, Jackson.
Three races
Draw made for the reverse grid then Paul O'Neill on the pole, what Matt Neal took second place and so he had a good chance to make a few points to Plato well. But only a rank launched later. The start should be so funny and he was there also. Plato had gone better, but was reversed by Neal at Copps. A few meters away but Neal slipped out and fell back just as far away. MacDowell was back and remained standing at the start was made by Martin Depper BMW in full. The safety car had to sort first time the field. O'Neill led after the first round before Onslow-Cole, Chilton, Collard, Kane, Jackson, Neal and Shedden. Plato was only in 17th place
O'Neill won the restart just for themselves, but both Ford made a lot of pressure. After two hard fought rounds Cole was due to improved acceleration over for now. Behind the beat Jackson, Neal, Collard and Shedden for fourth place, while Plato established only in 14th place to go. As usual there was the normal cut and thrust. Andrew Jordon and Rob Collard came a little too close and Jordan landed in the gravel.
Front did little at first, not surprisingly, Chilton could overtake the old Integra, only Neal and Jackson were in the infight. Plato slid slowly towards points and was on lap 15 in 11th place, three laps later and was then the 10th Take place. Front Chilton was surprisingly gradual decline and the group in Jackson, Neal and Shedden stuck to his rear. Jackson tried it at Brooklands with a surprise attack on Chilton and pushed him aside. It fell Neal and Shedden ago still on the undulating Ford. Even Jackson's BMW did not look so good, so that Neal could hang in the wind shadow.
In the final round gave it to Neal and Jackson again really. Neal tried everything, but was also cautious, because a failure, he could not afford after the bad weekend. He looked at Luffield still come in, but Jackson was the beginning. Bottom line: Cole, O'Neill, Jackson, Neal, Shedden, Chilton, Kane, Nash, Plato, MacDowell.
This enabled Ford to win all three races on the weekend. And the real winner Tom Onslow-Cole would have been that even in the two previous races Chilton had to let happen. Makes you wonder why Ford have resorted to this strategy, because in the end they have taken away the Ford drivers against each other's points. Neal could at least catch up at the end of a few points, but had lost before.
Plato is in front of the championship, but he has now not only with Matt Neal to do, but also with Tom Onslow-Cole, who is number two. As with Knockhill follows a course that should be above all the cars with short wheel base, it could again be in the championship really tight.
Jason Plato - 171 points
Onslow-Cole - 157 points
Matt Neal - 148 points
Gordon Shedden - 138 points
Tom Chilton - 127 points

Warning, the ITR reported after the race: "Based on further investigations on a tire of the vehicle from Audi driver Timo Scheider, the race result was not confirmed officially at Zandvoort and therefore remains preliminary. After the race was at one of Scheider's car tires found was that the mandatory bar code identification by series partner Dunlop was missing. This is a violation of the Technical Regulations of the DMSB. The tire is then examined in detail by Dunlop, to see how the bar code could be solved. After analysis and evaluation of the DMSB the announcement of the official results made in the coming days. "

The promised rain broke not out during the race, but that did not have to be. The DTM is supplied from so one of her better races in Zandvoort, although not necessarily related to the fight at the top. There, Gary Paffett and Paul di Resta turned their lonely rounds, had stalled after his Audi Timo Scheider on pole at the start almost. Happiness is the two-time champion in Holland just do not hold, even though he clearly said after the race that the false start is his fault. This Audi was out after a few seconds in the fight for victory, but it was all about, that Spengler could remove as many points as possible so that Ekström and Scheider could catch up a bit in the championship. However, the distance between the top three Mercedes drivers already so large that a title defense of Audi's highly unlikely.
Mercedes tried to keep in the race to Spengler, the rumfuhr in sixth place, but could not orient to the front. Instead, he had to look in the rearview mirror, which had gathered after a few rounds again Timo Scheider. Despite his miserable start, he had one of the fastest cars on the track and could aufschnupfen his opponents. Spengler when he came to a normal way not pass, so they decided to measure it at the first pit stop Audi from Scheider very late. Mercedes has focused too much on Spengler and overlooked the fact that the Audi-train consisting of a sudden Jarvis and Rockenfeller thanks to a good strategy Spengler was dangerous. After stopping the Mercedes driver was suddenly in the middle of Audi's crowd, while Scheider was able to put down faster times earlier. The final score was even, to beat Ekstrom, who had not just one of its best weekends. Spengler then turned 10 laps to go to even Rockenfeller in an optimistic overtaking, which was surprisingly not penalized.
In the end, won easily from di Resta and Gary Paffett Scheider, who was allowed to keep his place in the championship despite the better-placed Ekström was behind him. However, the race organizers had in the last rounds Audi also missed a warning shot when it announced that it would investigate an overtaking maneuver from the third of the race between Molina and Ekström possible because of team orders. Scheider, who had been in between suddenly lost a second on Ekstrom was able to preserve a space then.
A word about Molina: The young Spaniard had a very good weekend. Fourth in the qualification, then third in the race long before he had to bow to Ekstrom. Scheider went to Molina past due to the better strategy. Apparently because Audi has a really good rookie but pulled ashore. Will be interesting to see how he develops.
If Audi's not all sweetness and light. The rumors about the exodus of Ekstrom desires to NASCAR will not go away no matter how much both sides deny it. You have to see the thing but sometimes a little bit cooler. Ekstrom has zero oval experience, even though he already had a test drive, and probably will be in Richmond. But as we saw in Ambrose and Montoya, it takes at least two years to some extent forward is up. I can not imagine that Red Bull has this desire. In addition, you should use a third car, apply for Kahne and Vickers as a set. Vickers still being behind a question mark after he underwent surgery in July at heart. The NASCAR venture will cost so much money, a third car that has the quality, you will not risk more likely. In addition, baited with a Ekström Audi at Le Mans, which the Swedes quite irritating. Apparently you think about the Audi also how long the "old men's team" with Capello and Kristensen still fast enough. Ekstrom was there a good supplement.
In the DTM championship, it has become the front to the parlous state of race Spengler somewhat narrower.
Plumber - 44 points
Paffett - 35 points
di Resta - 33 points
Ekstrom - 28 points
Green - 26 points
Scheider - 23 points
With five races to go a lot is possible, but it is unlikely that all three leading Mercedes driver fail time together. Moreover, it seems the C-Class this year to be significantly better at all distances.

btcc the race was awesome. and I must say even that the national variant gefählt very well. I like these short versions track. overtaking opportunities on should not be dependent on the route at the btcc ... the cars are so constructed that there are opportunities on every track to deliver a lot of volume action.
but because ... the fords go from just a very perverse. restart the race in 3 h've seen it very well because of excess km /
all in all ... a perfect race weekend,. only what has surprised me ... it was very, very few viewers place on there. I was quite surprised at the action.
-Spengler has immeasurable happiness that he had to collect for Thurl no penalty. Not only that completely contradicts the previous line of the race organizers, it would have been perfectly justified.
The barn-directed study just with a single Überholmaneuver Ekstrom Molina is actually a little joke. Both Ekstrom and Scheider had a whole series of very simple Überholmaneuvern other Audis past, where it was completely obvious that you did not hurt himself. Either you are all investigated on suspicion of stables directing, or it can remain whole.
The story of the investigation may be a warning direction Audi Eki not view nor a separator to maneuver over.
I had understood that investigated here, was whether a slower Molina at this moment has not eingebemst the Spengler in his long battle with Scheider.
I understand that's a farce, DTM Sun Sorry but Spengler moves out of the box and then screams off the first all blue flags displayed should get in front of him. Motor Sports? Not really.
The rule was once "good intentions" because it is organized by the DTM from 2 manufacturers, and ride only the drivers and teams from these manufacturers grace came just too ugly blocking measures in coming, the one the two mandatory pit stops, which of course are not really necessary, then set had the other one can stay. The result usually is worse than the blockades, they robbed every backbencher to opportunities through strategic times to land on the front, it prevents real racing, it prevents overtaking maneuvers. Will probably not ....
The threat of investigation Molina / Ekstrom is also funny, it was not the favors were only calculated with the total overtaking the championship contenders.
And then of course the action of Spengler. If the stewards of their previous line followed there would have to give a penalty. Does it not see why once again, you probably will not discriminate against title contenders because of something.
The DTM in 2010, lives and how they "survived". A totally depraved marketing event, the two manufacturers to push with all the tricks their pets to the front, paired with an operator's guide heads are all recruited from the environment of these two manufacturers. Of course this may be nothing.
There is currently only bearable when looking at the DTM as a joke, then it is almost involuntarily, even entertaining, and yes dear attentive reader, this includes the Schwabendenglisch which one gets by purely radio team.
As real touring cars were seen on the other hand looks at Silverstone on Sunday. Two full days racing program with dozens of lively action and the support series and offered to three rounds of the BTCC, unfortunately, are driven on the short track. No matter, in any case was seen in the BTCC in the DTM is not what one really sees racing action, even if it were not so topsy-turvy as otherwise schonmal happy. But even if not surpassed it all the time hanging barely influenced by aerodynamic cars extremely close behind each other in groups and lie in wait for the error or if the person in front does not help then you also like to stop by. And the cars will not break things like the toy of the DTM ...
Something there was, unfortunately, but also to complain about at Silverstone, the reconstruction is Copse Corner has unfortunately been ruined. It is similar to dozens of other routes now full throttle roar out of the barriers to sail on the Astroturf meters and then continue to accelerate at full throttle on the asphalt behind it. Man loses nothing in terms of speed. Sry even if it is well intentioned but real racing is characterized by the fact imho from the one to keep on the track has ...
Couch Racer as I can tell you it looks just right geben. So unfortunately in the new DTM aus.Aber one you forgot. The audience.
There are still masses of spectators to the race.
Of these, most have no idea right before racing like we do here in the forum.
There were only a few hundred spectators who go through the DTM tot.Aber long ago, unfortunately we have to endure so and so live.
How well does real touring car arrives at the instance of attendance of other series. I can not think right away no series in Europe (except F1, and even those do not always have more spectators than the DTM), which undergoes even close to the attendances at the track as the DTM. The BTCC very much appreciated by me also do not.
The DTM is far from being perfect, as bad as they are selling some of it is not. I see in the DTM series at the highest level, both his driving and, technically, but equally from the dedicated team. In addition, all teams start with the same conditions, a blank sheet of paper. Advantageous classifications distort competition (Ford, Seat, etc.) are not what makes the victory more valuable in my eyes. It also prevents arguments.
Just as well you could be on here so beloved Sprint Cup ridicule. Identical cars with the technology of vorvorgestern, on which lights and coolers must be adhered to distinguish them go, the most boring races over long distances and need to be made exciting by some artificially induced caution periods.
Everyone can watch what he likes. I am interested in Nascar not particularly accordingly I do not see it in me. Why does it keep up with the other DTM does not just happen?
A word about the composition of the ITR. HWA was almost always the president, even in times of old DTM. And then neither the BMW or Opel or Alfa has prevented to get involved in the factory.
At the debate, my opinion is known. If this corresponds to the level encountered here, I'm sorry for the very well-done site. Since there's little fun here to participate.
@ Attentive reader: Why do you look at this further? I've also always wondered. For me, I can say that I for a hard break with old habits. On the other hand, I still remember very well the "golden years" of the DTM (then ITC) in the late 90s 80ern/frühen, and somehow I'm just not going to hope that it might again be in the sport and the fore. The DTM has any real potential to link to it in theory, but they do not make it easy, and sometimes, unfortunately, that's by design. Germany "needs" well something like a top touring car series as the highest class, and the DTM could today offer the same, but they will be dealt with by the producer-directors as a stage on which to script some scenes and silhouettes of actors pushed through the area, so that producers will have a presentation platform where it is at least as important, that at the end of any "Act" presents his latest single still on stage.
@ Attentive reader:
On the subject of debate and Denglisch:
Here is like to everyone and everything pulled his leg. And by that I mean everything and everyone. Whether it's the DTM, MSc, Dale Jr., or anyone else is here given away each be fat. Although one is not personally offensive or but.
This is indeed like to go hard with someone in court, but fair.
How often was the Nascar or IRL his leg pulled when ne Caution has come because of debris?
Just as with the DTM or F1 if there is ne-sentence joke.
@ attentive reader :
For a discussion of the "Denglish" over the weekend: As Flo says, a lot happens in the chat already a little rougher. Much of what is said is not as serious as it sounds. Often it is only a small valve to let off steam, especially when a race time does not meet expectations. The users know the rules here and we know that mutual, personal insults are not tolerated here. In the three years in which there are the chat, I have only a single block users need, and that was a spammer.
For DTM: I think I have my opinion on the series often made clear. I speak neither you nor the parties involved (riders, team staff, etc.) from the professionalism. That would be, given the quality and rubbish. But I do not fit the concept of the series, which is too much on the mark and too little focus on the drivers and teams. The policy is that all teams are under the "thumb" of a brand that there is no free, pure private teams, the "big", etc. may also propose fits into my eyes not to motor sport. The good viewing figures of the DTM wonder sometimes, people even read the "Bild" newspaper :)
The DTM could be much better if there would be a) more brands, and b) the rules would be adjusted. The ITR is the solo stuff is not helpful regulations.
@ Attentive reader
Hello first :)
At the "DTM-bashing", which is operated in the chat: The DTM makes it seem to be harder than other series, but also on the proper times and usually carved on it is not entirely wrong. It also has reasons, such as the blue flags ... The people participating here, mostly invest more time into the "racing track" than the average "I just look two hours Sunday Formula 1" viewers. And as a motor sports fan is what makes the DTM is in part because just absolutely do not understand and you feel cheated out of "fair" race. Then, when the "forced-neutral-sounding and-somehow-so-funny" pronunciation of "This is race control" this happens is because the skin on it very well. I have the penultimate DTM race did. At some point, something like the running joke in the chat like Keystone Light, Slapchop, Junior missed the pits, Alonso howls again around etc. I believe that the level of general here in the comments and the chat is higher than in many other motor sports pages.
Mfg.
Chaos
can join me there. for some supplies for the dtm fun house free material so see, "this is race control" or "push on the out lap, otherwise it will just", etc
I say it this way ... I'm on for almost the beginning here. and the people here are on the way ... whether in chat or in comments here are very knowledgeable. But as already described above ... some things are just for running joke ...
I am fan dale jr himself, and has since endured nunmal spot because if he does jr gotten to 64x its box and so missed but also because it is so then nunmal Jr. for providing material. and here are indeed not a lie or something common. so I think it is perfectly okay.
best regards
What the Professionalism has nothing to do with a certain degree of decency? Worrying about the pronunciation funny to me is simply inappropriate. When people speak French-speaking English as Zurlinden (have) it sounds like not just native speakers. Above all, the argument (came in the chat) that in an international racing series, Kindly proper English should be spoken, is simply ridiculous. But no matter.
To commit fraud on Attendance: I do not immediately fall to the race series in which everything is running smoothly. In my opinion there is not, in any of the audience is "cheated". In the NASCAR and ALMS race of the output is driven crazy by caution periods. The 24h race at Nurburgring win (usually) of that team who has bricked in previous VLN race at best. In the GT, the S2000 and the sports prototype also get the vehicles, which are considered the happiest. The reverse Startreiehenfolge the WTCC is a complete distortion of competition. One could go on hours, but we leave that
I am fascinated as well expert, versed in technology insiders, the DTM because of the great race car in my eyes and the already mentioned very high level, which is worked on. At a superficial action is lacking at the races admittedly quite often, even the current development of stopping taking away a lot of fascination.
