NASCAR: Pocono Analysis I 2010

Pocono was once again up to its reputation and delivered a dramatically boring race that was too late to save at the end with a GWC.

Frankly - I find it a bit to race in Pocono. 43 cars started, only led Clint Bowyer, then Danny Hamlin, who won in the end. In between, nothing actually happened. Nothing at all. One would read after the start, a good book that make litter clean or a long, almost 4 hour can make walking, without which you missed large which would have to see then the GWC, the great Aufreger a completely unnecessary maneuvers by AJ Allmendinger was.

After all - the boring race was a time, now look a little through the field. So it looks as Ford continued from bleak. In the race played no role in the Fords, at the end of Allmendinger and Kahne also eleminierte then Biffle, which were fairly good. Why Ford this year is so bad on the road, we can say is difficult. If Roush is puzzled themselves about the lack of performance, and blames a little towards the engine, the little to be too weak. Ford experimented with but just a new drive, which aims to improve the situation. But that alone may not be. Dodge is not just as a PS miracles, yet could Kurt Busch won the last race. Apparently they ended up in the chassis in a blind alley from which one does not come out. The championship has to write off is not, but it does not look good this year. Perhaps there is still the turnaround over the summer.

RCR continues to see out strong, but you still have the very last step to permanently stay ahead. The team performance is quite ansehlich, as all three RCR drivers once again landed in the top 10 Especially the middle of the race dominated Clint Bowyer at Pocono, but later it was obviously missed the vote. Childress but he also looks for a team that is close to the top of the championship would have on the list.

JGR has a real contrast with Denny Hamlin championship candidates. Previously it was always a bit difficult to Hamlin in the top club record, but after victories at Pocono, Darlington, Martinsville and Texas both the team and Hamlin has shown that it is doing well at all distances. Of course you have the 2008 season have in mind when Kyle Busch by August everything went into the ground has to be in the Chase totally going under. But JGR will have learned from the mistakes and you do not go for the first time for the championship.

At Hendrick is currently suspended by something. Johnson was able to salvage a fifth place, but was never able to attack the leaders. The same goes for Jeff Gordon and the crisis for weeks at a plug end Mark Martin. The problems started for Hendrick with the introduction of the new spoiler that you have apparently not under control as RCR or JGR. It looks very bad for Dale Earnhardt Jr. made. He succeeded in the Quali a little respect for success, only to be in the race, as we have become accustomed gradually to fall back. It succeeds neither he nor his team to adapt the car over the distance. What is more, the atmosphere between him and his crew chief on the best is not. Obviously it is not really clear with each other and find a common level, or talking past each other. That the car and the driver has the speed, you know, but why can not the implement over a race distance is a mystery. Many see the error even with Junior, who was not in a condition to win. Too busy cramped, too busy with themselves and the mistakes of the team. It is clear that he lacks at the moment of the bite, and he laments more than driving. Maybe that helps another crew chief change, but who should take Rick Hendrick?

As far as a quick look through the field. The race at Pocono provided only at the end of a real upsets, because in the last round of the GWC, blocked AJ Allmendinger on the back straight and his teammates Kasey Kahne shoved him ungallant in the meadow. The result was a more than unpleasant accident.

Allmendinger apologized after the race, but this will help also no more. The maneuver was more than stupid, especially since there was only one position and his teammate was also significantly faster. Friends he has not done so.

So forget about the race too fast and then displace that one in 6 weeks here again is on the way. Next week it will then continue in Michigan.

Because you've got actually the most out of the super-race brought out! : D
Only one thing I miss a little, even if the issue is now chewed through countless times: At the "big one" at the end would be Kasey Kahne nearly landed in the neighbor's garden and the hedge has he shaved off parts of the tail, which is in the linked video clearly to see.

My question: What happens finally something?
Pocono is so outdated in terms of safety, you can even see the commercial highway guardrail in the infield. In addition, the already complained of me for one year or grass on the inside of the accident ultimately caused by otherwise happy times and makes for unnecessary flashovers.

I think it helps here just to say something really 1000 times in this respect, at least to the topic will not be forgotten. Pity is the typical behavior that is always something done only when bad things happen again and someone gets hurt. Here the problem and the solution is clear and sufficiently in advance.

I just wanted to add more to the NASCAR-analysis, you have indeed taken over again since this week from me. : O)

In NASCAR Now Jeff Gluck has also the subject of hedge or fence missing addressed, the lawn was also criticized, all in all, there are actually plenty of reasons for NASCAR to make the route for safety reasons under the carpet ... hopefully.
