NASCAR: Analysis of Richmond in May 2010

After some of the best NASCAR race in Talladega for several hours, it could be the pilot in Richmond much easier time.

Richmond is actually a not a real short track. On the one hand, it is too fast, on the other hand, there is too much space. This usually leads to the fact that you see on the track thrilling race, however, suffer from many of the interruptions. But Saturday night was threatening the life to become a real bore. The reason was Kyle Busch, whose car was so superior that he round up the 140, so not even at half time, had lapped up to the top 10 all. When he started it, even conceding that, NASCAR pulled the emergency brake.

This was done as it should be otherwise, in the form of a Caution for debris. Of the one or more objects on the road once saw something but not really. But the NASCAR wanted a "soft reset" thanks to "wave around" the race, so the audience does not completely asleep. About 15 rounds, after which all were in the pits under green, they threw the caution. The small handful of leaders of 9 cars drove into the pits, all that had only one lap down, (up to 25th place) stayed outside and took the "wave around" grateful. Were about 12 laps after the restart it again a Debris Caution (this time it was a harmless, little plastic bottle) and then all went into the pits. Thus the field again on a level and the race was on lap 176 and then go on.

The "wave around" are not without controversy. The NASCAR argued that a) creates more tension and b) gives the team the opportunity to make changes to the vehicle. Whether that is sports? In an endurance race, which will be played on a short track, at least this is a good way to time changes so much.

Took over after second restart again before Kyle Busch in command, followed by Jeff Gordon and Jeff Burton in the meantime. But really ran the first two came when Busch left his car a little change that did not fit quite right. The dominant male of the weekend came back again, and when his car also were signs of smoke, seemed the end was sealed. All the more glad Jeff Gordon, who this year is very much bite on the way and has made little difference. So far, his ambitions took him only in 2nd place, the victory he always scraped by again. This is his last victory back even more than a year ago, when he could win in the spring of 2009 in Texas.

Hendrick saw in Richmond, aside from Jeff Gordon, not looking good. Jimmie Johnson for 10th place gondelte around completely while Mark Martin and Dale Earnhardt were on a roll. Both were never to be seen, only junior was shown briefly when it comes to the opposite to a light touch even his left rear tire flew around the ears. Junior and Martin have run since the set ups seem common, there is something mighty wrong to. So they were certainly not alone. The office of Tony Stewart, Hendrick also tinkered throughout the race to the vote, only Ryan Newman stuck at the end of the top 10

Clearly fared better Juan Pablo Montoya. Who showed on a course he likes in his own words now not really a good race. From his poor grid position (19), he worked his way forward, and soon drove around most of the time between position 10 and 5.

The race then splashed down in front of you, but of course there were times towards the end of another two Caution, which led the field together. After all, "right" Caution, both times because Sam Hornish had taken his car. The first restart on lap 385 Jeff Gordon could still decide for themselves, and he pulled away and fast. But the mischief was brewing behind him along in the form of Kyle Busch, who had found the right path to the vote and now pressed forward. The second on lap 396 Kyle was then held second place, and he let Gordon no chance. He pushed his way past a tough but fair maneuver and then drove relaxes to a well deserved victory.

No wahnsinng good race, but at times it was quite entertaining, because in the middle of moving a lot. Forward it remained until the last restart boring. So not exactly a classic that you have seen in the middle of the night. Next week it Samstagnachrennen again, this time Darlington is on the agenda.

Other drivers:
- Carl Edwards remained as the entire Roush troupe in Richmond very pale. 5th place at the end sounds better than his race
- RCR put all the cars in the Top 12 Harvick (3), Burton (4), Bowyer (12)
- Marcus Ambrose once drove a race to the end and landere promptly at # 9, his best result
- Joey Logano did not really kick in and landed in 16th place
- Behind him was AJ Allmendinger, who was the best pilot that Petty Motorsports.
- In the championship again Kevin Harvick leads with 10 points against Johnson. Junior has fallen out of the top 12, but is only 4 points behind Bowyer. Montoya's mission "Points" pays off slowly, lying in 18th place, still 104 points away from a place in the Chase.

A word to the truck race at Kansas, which was also the only way mtttel well. An interruption due to a storm (including hail) helped the race not exactly, but this maneuver, the two drivers Hornaday (# 33) and Sauter (# 13) will probably go down in history.

And at the end of Johnny Sauter won the race even. The title "Save of the Year" both are likely to have securely.
