The summer break is over, it starts again. The races follow aufeinandern relatively tight.
There was a lot of Formula One over the last two months, not exactly. Just three races went to (Silverstone, Nurburgring, Hungary) since 21 June. This is a racing series in the summer a little bad, but it has something to do with the fact that Ecclestone, Canada, France, and Indy has thrown out the program. As one should come up for 2010 but something. Aside from the fact that race in the sunshine and heat make the fans more fun than in September at Spa. So the story continues in Valencia, that street circuit, the track looks pretty good on paper. Unfortunately, just as the race last year was a disaster. I expect much in 2009 either, but the situation is different in the F1 from last year, but significantly, because the teams are much closer together. And one should not underestimate Alonso at home just in case.
Renault may ride that is still in Valencia after an appeals court had cashed the punishment of the Stewarts from Hungary. No lock, only 50,000 dollars in fines. A little more would have to be, but the lock because of the loose wheel, I found something very hard.
Two new faces are in Formula One. Luca Badoer known to be a jump in for the injured Massa, Grosjean replaced the dismissed Piquet. So the Renault people have finally located her own greenhouse. Grosjean is one that I can see bad. In F3 he was supernaturally good, not bad in GP2, but he made many mistakes. Thus the very large high-flyer, for which he is held in France, he is not sure, but let's see what comes uttered them. At least Renault is embarrassing ensure that he gets the best material. What Piquet has told so by his sacking everything will certainly have interested Renault.
In Badoer I'm curious how he will fare. I do still not entirely clear why Ferrari has taken the replacement of the spare man. Gene is actually faster, has won at Le Mans and what should not be forgotten, even sitting in the F60. But I suspect that the decision by Ferrari and a "thank you" is to Badoer for his services. Badoer is no longer a young pilot. He is 38 years old but has only 50 races. The rest of the time he has tested the car for Schumacher drove up. One should not expect much, even if the last few days have been sitting in the F60 and was able to drive at least 200 km. Ferrari has used the "We do commercial work" trick, which is sanctioned by the FIA.
Schumacher will probably still be an issue in Spain, even if the rumors are relaxed about a possible comeback a little further. It probably had something to do really, the thing that was a unique affair. Even if he could go back - I do not think he is doing a season again. Especially not next to Alonso and / or massage in a third car. In fact, Alonso at Ferrari seems to be fixed, although I believe that only when the Montezemolo announced after the race at Monza. Apparently it has offered Raikkonen but that he must for Fiat 2010 mitaufbauen a WRC team - with some retention of his salary. As much fun as it was Finland, I would not be surprised.
Presumably there will be lots of talk about BMW. The FIA have officially applied for now to a starting place in the FIA. What kind of madness, but it suits the rather hectic decision of Bavaria. It has not the Concorde Agreement will be signed, because then (as well as the potential buyer) would have been tied to the 2012 F1. But the neglect also means that one does without a lot of money (points, TV money, etc.) By applying for one of the free spaces at least one holds the door open for a follow-up team.
On race: it is extremely difficult to say who at the moment and has the best car for Valencia. All the teams come up with new parts. McLaren has probably worked to the front of the new revised front wing better BrawnGP brings small update to correct some errors and what to bring better, especially the front tires up to temperature. Ferrari has a major update with new front and rear wings. At Red Bull I have not heard or read, but also will bring new parts.
The track in Valencia is fast, but there is, especially for the lines. Most of the remainder consists of those courses available for town square corners. So you need not too much downforce, even if everything is off turn 17 very fast. As you can lose a lot of time, but even with a low output, the one there does slow - may be outdated because it does not. This is only at the end of the line and then comes into play again KERS. I have not heard who travels with KERS, but McLaren and Ferrari will have installed the electric boost well. That's especially McLaren to win 1 a candidate.
One should also not forget Renault. They know that they have a slow car, but because you are in Spain, you will probably leave Alonso in the qualification again easily pull out. That would have been able to go well in Hungary and a bold strategy could pay off in Valencia.
The role of the "dark horse" will once again play Williams. The British are the front runners in this constant and also keep pace with the development. The problem will, however, developed the strength of the top teams in recent weeks, and whether there can keep up with Williams. A place among the top five but can be in it and if you are also times when it comes to strategy, as brave as Renault, then once more.
Behind it are likely to Toyota and BMW romp. While BMW continues to develop, but the motivation should be kept within narrow limits. If the drivers are gone anyway. Kubica is more often associated with Renault in connection Heidfeld thinks out loud about Le Mans and the DTM after.
I'm very curious how this will develop into the weekend. Although probably not just Valencia will be a barometer for the rest of the season. Coming a week later at Spa.
And what else?
IRL moves to the Infinion Raceway, LMS at the Nurburgring. Maybe I'll have a preview.

This fast Geschlängel or access to the following hairpin is funny enough, the only place where I can remember from last year to overtake, one each in GP2 and F1. This section is by far the best part of the route (at least as far as I can judge from computer games and TV pictures ^ ^).
I hope the race is more exciting than 2008, because I believe that the route has more potential. Hopefully I will not be taught this weekend for a better ...
Maximum in the rain, the route could provide an interesting race. In which case either hergegurkt probably forever behind the SC would, or hang a large part of the field after a short time in the guard rail would.
By the way, I'm not sure if Badoer Ferrari'm really a favor, even if the intention was to ensure the well-intentioned.
