The last top-Team Red Bull has now presented his patrol car. There has been much speculation in recent weeks about the the RB5 will be something special, but at first glance, there are only a few details that stand out
Adrian Newey, the new rules are very contrary, it was said again and again. Newey is someone who enjoys building the car is very narrow and shallow, and sometimes it goes so far that the pilot barely fits in.. Hence the rumors that the designer may be due to the new aero rules romp again correctly, even understandable. But compared to the hype, the Red Bull has itself spurred in January, the car is not so much different now. The other engineers can do their homework and stop the laws of physics to change not. But apparently the revolution is under the car.
The first thing that struck me while watching the images on the fly, is the huge front wing. May lie at the angle of the photos, but the wing looks really very big. The nose has an interesting, very sharp turn downward. As if you wanted to pull the flat part as far forward as possible. If you look closely, you'll see that even the right and left front of the cockpit, the nose is pulled down and the air are two limitations on the right and left out of the nose ( here sees it a little better). Interesting idea. In the middle of the car I do not see much new, the idea of the side pods, in addition to ensuring that the air can be led to the sharp indentation is not new.
It is interesting then that Newey has taken the side panels of the rear wing very far down. That did not make the other teams and it probably has something to do with the way the RB5 is dealing with the air under the car. Red Bull had earlier announced that they will have found a completely new way. There are no pictures of it, of course. The basic idea is clear: there is because of the slick tires and larger front wing front output has more than enough, you have to deal with the possible overriding fact that you missed the rear downforce. The possibilities are limited, so you have to see that the output is greater under the car in the rear area. The good old suction is needed here.
Williams has probably claimed, along with Toyota, which found. Not for nothing are just arguing about whether the use of both teams diffuser is legal. Red Bull wants is probably not only be time to look at their cards.

Nice interpretation of the subfloor is not only the Ferrari esque mirror holder, but also to a set of absolutely classic barge-boards.
Wow, I like the RB5! At first glance, the car seems pretty fast and not too extreme. However, only limited Turn1 fit, just the rear wing looks as if he would be easily damaged. That will probably, unfortunately, more of an issue in the new season. Not that this is the way in the DTM ... "Yes, I had lost in the first round and have light contact while a flap, then the car was undriveable, unfortunately, totally blah ..." ARGH!!!! !
Where can I look at the mirror, RB did not last season because of David Coulthard made the things inside? I find that yes, the FIA will finally dictate that the driver can, daily since with no major problems. Too bad the RB again "umentwickelt" has in this respect.
I like the side pods also quite interesting: Williams and BMW have outwardly still increased at Ferrari, they are generally very curvy, Renault has this horizontal sail-thingy-monster to the suspension. In contrast, Red Bull, they are equally strong and relatv from front to back.
Perhaps you tried so these later lying second wing-tip and the long end plates to flow better. No idea ... ^ ^ Anyway, I think because the Newey-famous slimming seen ;-)
