Formula One: Engine rules softened

I myself could not only believe, but it's probably true. The Formula One engines must still hold three races, but not consecutively.

formula_1_engine Actually, it was just a side note, Stefano Domenicali, which was hardly taken up. Only James Allen took the story on his blog and at first I did not believe it. Domenicali believes that you can change the engines as you like. You must stop at the end of the year, not more than eight engines have used.

Oh yeah - small task for rates: Estimates how much time viewers on average at a WTCC race sitting in front of the television. The resolution is that below.

Actually true, because in Article 28.4 of the new rules (in this case the download ) is not a word more of it, that the engine is at the end of an event in the tail, are also used in the next race has. This means that you can play with the engines. One could (although it makes little sense) use only one engine for the quality. What will probably all: change the engine after the race at Spa before heading to Monza. Theoretically, one could thus have an engine that is used only for races on slow tracks. But this does not impact the fundamental fact that a driver only eight engines for all race weekends, has included the Friday testing. Where the point is still open, because the end of the weekend is not yet definitively established. May well be that the test is still expanding hours on Friday.

Whether this change makes sense? Not really, because it brings more confusion for the audience. Smokes a team, a motor in the third free practice from, then that does not automatically give a "you, 10 seats to the back" penalty, but nothing. Not until the eighth engine is smoked, it becomes serious. A look at the last year shows that this is probably not to be expected. Unless KERS disrupts the machine.

NASCAR - Amirola out?
There are rumors in the U.S. that EGR will only go with three cars in the season. Truex and Montoya are set, and the Colombians are not sure what car he is sitting 2009th Target would be an opportunity, but I'm sure Wrigley will let him off the hook. The last Werbekampgne was indeed quite good. And then there's the rumor that Terry Labonte would join the team. Either in the target car, or he would accept the sponsor loose # 8. For this one would make the # 42 Wrigley to close and move Labonte, who as a former champion should still probably get one or the other sponsor. This would be no room for Aric Amirola that has as a newcomer with only little backing in the team and the sponsors. If you now also have to count that at the moment is unclear whether the former DEI director Max Siegel continues, one could conclude that, when EGR three weeks before the season started, not just quietly goes.

And what else?
Premiere has got in with a new dividend shares and bank capital under 50 million euros fresh. So about two months should be enough, but then again anyway to follow a three-digit million amount should agree with the BaFin, the acquisition by Murdoch.

The Handelsblatt today, a text has appeared on the WTCC (thanks, dogfood ). Actually, more worthy of mention, as the text more or less lobhudelnd about the show comes along. As she was internationally but which they have technical reach, how great the race would produce € sport. Apparently the magazine has Florian Oedinger sponsors.de never seen on two weekends in a row a race, otherwise he would not write such a thing. But apart from that there are some interesting figures on the audience.

In the past three years, the number of spectators were barely more than 200 000 on average. The market proportion between 1.5 and 1.9 percent

Since then I have but one eyebrow drawn up. On average, 200 000 is that it is 50% under it. It is for such a series even bitter. But no wonder. If you like sports € the start and times of the series every weekend somewhere else hinschiebt, one can hardly expect more. I wonder now, of course, sometimes loud, if you would hinbekommen 200 000 € with NASCAR in sports.

200,000 spectators (and more) who watch the Nascar race should be at a pan-European broadcasting still a problem. I'm concerned again eternal with the comment: "... does the sun and makes the earth revolve around ..." :-)

The numbers refer only to Germany.

The new engine rule is indeed again a great shot into the oven. If one uses all engines must keep an average of two races, as it did last season. Then you take it as a test driver for the training and can herumexerimentieren it. Well, the engine builders, it may be right, even the top teams. The real aim, however, missed the FIA, in my view with this rule.

The rate would be higher with the WTCC safety may, but if you look here http://www.quotenmeter.de/cms/?p1=c&p2=28&p3 = look at the total market share of € sport is not so bad here the WTCC.

If now the eighth motor goes up before the season ends, the driver must start in each race remaining ten places further back? These are relatively "harmless" punishment could bring the team strategists have to think ...

In my opinion, an F1 engine would no longer need to keep anyway as a race weekend.

If the average is 200,000 spectators then that means that one is NOT in 50% of the cases below. That would be the case only if the median would also happens to 200,000 spectators.
I would imagine that there are some races with very poor (ie outliers down) viewing figures were and have pushed them to the average rather, perhaps race with terrible start times for D. Alternatively, it could also be some races have been at very high viewing figures, the the average has broken up. I can not think but no one race that could have had more traction than others.

I offer one more "I've got him, I've got him, I got it ... I did not see him ..."

More interesting, but really, how many cars will see you Friday at the track, then test in detail? Would imagine that it determines a per weekend for a Friday program, which then mitliefert a basic setup for the second pilot, who then rounded off a few laps in the thing itself. I doubt the FIA so that the going is good.

One motor can certainly hold might require four GPs, when a driver retires early due to a collision or something. Actually quite interesting and hopefully escape the regulations so that these terrible places ^ ^ +10.
