Motorsport: General News

Again was a bit more work in the past few days, so it was a little quieter here. But not much is happening anyway, at times FIA and FOTA give a still enigma as to what will now happen in the future, everything.

The idea to refrain from refueling, has still not everything is opened up completely, but obviously wants to keep the tire change. Bridgestone plans to not only once, to move with wooden hoops, which hold an entire race. As it stands, are more burdened in the future, especially the front wheels because they are tracked by the lack of downforce slip more. As we have seen in the grooved tires, new tires put so much that you can lose a race in a round, you remain outside too long. This opens some opportunities in the race strategy.

For example, there would be the point that a car that handles gentler with the tires, the race has distinct advantages. In the last season was the Ferrari. Since the fuel is eliminated in 2010 and all are on the move with the same amount of fuel (or almost equal) it is very important how the tires will be charged. An engine that consumes less means that you must take with less weight, allowing better lap times and less strain on the tires. This could well be interesting arithmetic, where the lap times are very close eye must have.

Otherwise, there is little in the F1 news. The test times nothing to say to a little, because nobody knows what is there and tried the car with different configurations on the road. From a buyer when it comes to Honda do not hear much and I do not think it is Dave Richards.

Because of the need now to cope once the factory withdrawal of Subaru from the WRC. After all, the car has implemented on their behalf. Besides Subaru, Suzuki has also adopted, which consists only of the WRC Citroen and Ford. The French have given their aversion to the new Super 2000 regulations + already known and just sort of whether the DTM may make sense. At Ford, we just do not even know if or when to shut the shop. The WRC is a kind of ghost series, but what surprised anybody. I mean, how stupid must one be to throw even the Rally Monte Carlo in the calendar. Even if one has become the rally for security reasons (not the Col de Turini, no "Night of Long Knives") neutered, this is a shot in the knee. That would be as if we emphasize the Daytona 500 or the F1 race in Monaco. What is most serious is the fact that the FIA has thrown out the Monte without great hardship, so that one can introduce the rotation calendar. Something that no one understands. A victory at the Monte is the marketing departments still almost worth as much as a victory in the championship. The (possible) demise of the WRC could but the rise of the IRC inspire. Since quite a few famous ride from the youth level and it has mainly a 2009 calendar that can be seen. The IRC runs the Monte namely, the old San Remo and the Safari Rally. However - the IRC is also a product FIA, which is driven by the Super 2000 rules.

For NASCAR: there too little news, except that Robby Gordon switches to Toyota, but what had been a few weeks an open secret. So even a Dodge team less. TRD builds the engines, probably Gordon himself tinkering around the chassis.

In terms of GEM / Petty, there is little news, except that the 2000 champion Bobby Labonte a "free agent" is, so get a job. But if one is brought into connection with EGR, where it still has a car-free. Labonte has but the problem is that he brings with no sponsor. Uncertain whether they will see him 2009th

With EGR, I still have not heard any official statement, with which motors you drive now. Or have I missed what?

The circle of problems in NASCAR is expanding. Ford, Chrysler and GM have probably known to no extra money from the U.S. government, but are well served from the bailout pot. At GM, the Grim Reaper just goes around and it shall be removed everything that costs money. Including the sponsorship of the Prestigious Speedway in Daytona. The high-speed circuit is not so alone. Watkins Glen has also lost its main sponsor (Century).

At the same voices are loud, pronounce the word "profit sharing". Basically as a treason towards NASCAR. Indeed, contrary to Formula One, NASCAR puts all the money what so through TV rights, etc. Admission is earned. The teams see a penny of it. If we then also know that the NASCAR of the International Speedway Corporation to take place even the most ovals where the race is one, then you can already get the idea that NASCAR and the France family, a pretty decent should have income. Of these, some teams would like to have something from, which is understandable, but probably more likely to freeze hell.

Only this way:
Next race live on TV / Network: Daytona 24 H and A1 in Taupo at 24.01.
Time to start NASCAR (Daytona 500): 60 days
Time to start F1: 99 days

The Mansfield Motorsports Park does not have enough money to host the Truck race in 2009, so the race was replaced by one in Iowa, the date was postponed from May to September. I am glad, because the track in Iowa, I find very well done.

Thank you. The EGR thing seems even then to be carried. So are only traveling with Penske and GEM Dodge. Which will have a good year, I dare to suggest.

Degree for me as GEM / Kasey Kahne fan is particularly dramatic. Now comes Evernham yes but then more or less completely into retirement, leaving the store the businessman Gillett (could also soon Gillett Petty Motorsports or so called), Dodge can always continue to see on GEM is somehow a whole is not much since the beginning of 2007 together.

Kahne had a great season in mid-2008 with 2 wins and a near-victory in Michigan, but that's about it already and the chase, he has not reached again. Because in my opinion soured after a great talent with a team in the relegation begriffenem.

Honestly, if you consider that Chrysler LLC is estimated that less than one month away from being state aid to receive billions of dollars to file for bankruptcy protection, or both, I would not rely on such statements too.

Power in question is not so good to dismiss on the one hand, thousands of workers, zusammenzustreichen the remaining pay and the American taxpayers in general to reach into the bag (motto: "No matter whether you buy our shit wagon or not, your money, we get to Absolutely! "), and also lead to further such Motorsportsperenzchen.

Personally for me stands alone with a Ford better than 50-50 chance of obtaining the support work in 2009 because, at GM, I would, however 60:40, 80:20 start with Chrysler even against it.
