2008 and 2009

The year 2008 was the view of the motor sport is certainly not the worst year. There were many exciting races and several championships were more than close. Formula One was no exception.

daytona_500_2008 I have not counted how many races I have seen, to time it is anyway easier to list those that I have not seen. Including two NASCAR races (Dover 1, Pocono 1) and a Formula One race (Monaco) were. The latter is still here on the hard disk. I also missed a race in the BTCC, the V8 Supercars and a few support races of the DTM. The rest I've probably seen and I still ask myself the question: what is left of it hanging?

Formula One: Honda Potential buyers / Alonso and Ferrari / NASCAR: Allmendinger to GEM

Thankfully, the motor sports world in recent days with the news, something held back, so I could maintain my cold. But then came the announcement that Carlos Slim is said to have bought the former Honda team.

That I was then but a little surprised, because between the announcement of the withdrawal of Honda and a sale would have located just three weeks. And at Christmas time. This may actually not be, because as long as the experts do already, to check the books. As it turned raustellte, the thing was a duck. Apparently Carlos Slim has indeed a certain interest in Formula One, but so far he has officially denied any agreement. Will probably continue to be Sun The question is, who otherwise could however emerge as a buyer?

Premiere - NASCAR 2009?

The January just around the corner and with it again question whether NASCAR will show up again in Germany, the chances are more difficult.

I have an interview with the Managing Editor of the motor sports department of Premiere, Rainer Kruger, now at motorsport totally read it. The statement that you would like to return to NASCAR in the program, but is not part of the stunning new editorial team. In fact, the decision was to NASCAR to throw out the program, against the will of the motor sports department. They wanted to keep the NASCAR, not least because it has definitely recognized that NASCAR has great growth opportunities in Germany. Unfortunately, the decisions in terms of the program but are not precipitated by the editors, but by the Board. This one, however, so clearly expressed, may already be an indication that the NASCAR ranks high on the list of Premiere.

Formula One and NASCAR: General News

Once again news comes to Honda. But the situation remains nebulous. In NASCAR, there is once again selling to announce a team.

But first Formula One. The headlines are still dominated by Honda. Today suddenly leaked a few names of potential buyers, which, given the ultimatum by Honda to want to see the end of a buyer, be a coincidence. Contrary to my previous belief, Dave Richards seems to be some truth to the team. Consistent several news sites, the Richards report at the moment in the Middle East, bored, where he supposedly seeks investors for his Formula One adventure. I really believe that still does not, because after the withdrawal of Subaru, the British a little more time, but he lacks money.

Formula One: News 21-12-2008

Actually, tomorrow is the deadline for Honda. If no buyer can be found up to 22:12:08, Honda wants to close up shop completely. So it was at any rate all the time, if you can believe the rumors.

The question is whether much has changed in terms of selling anything. Although Nick Fry says repeatedly that it would be a lot of people interested in the Formula One type barn, but he does not name names. And no one hears rumors. Since the announcement of 5.12. has done nothing since. About. 2.78 seconds after the announcement that Honda leaving Formula One fell, the name "Richard" and "Leach." More you have not heard, you can see from the times now already denied from rumors that Citroen / Peugeot would take over the store.

Formula One: Ecclestone "We bought Ferrari"

Hui - burns because the tree and so close to Christmas. Between Bernie Ecclestone and Luca di Montezemolo, a violent dispute arose, in which some unsavory details are presented for the reader.

Yes, even if the trouble is ... there appears to have been accumulating for many people a lot of frustration in recent years, which would like to get out right now. Fiat boss Luca di Montezemolo has a couple of days in the "Gazzetta dello Sport" given an extensive interview in which he writes about the recent changes in Formula One. Nothing bad, until he comes to speak to Bernie Ecclestone, he suggests, is yet to make friends with the slow times retirement. To which he said that he Ecclestone "greedy", because he would still retain the bulk of the revenue for themselves, or CVC, while providing the team the show. The British countered yesterday with an interview in the British Times and won a couple of old corpses out of the cellar.

Motorsport: General News 19-12-08

So - as of today there should be a little quieter in terms of work and I can once again have to worry around the blog. Today a Meldungsmix.

In the U.S., the "bailout" for the three auto companies in Detroit is probably still go through. The U.S. president personally intervened and picks some 17.4 billion dollars from the bailout pot together, which was originally designed only for banks. But if GM and Chrysler would go down the drain, this would probably have more problems. The money goes but just over the year, which means the manufacturer no longer security for planning. Basically, with Detroit still shaking half the U.S. motor sports. Particularly affected is the ALMS.

Motorsport: General News

Again was a bit more work in the past few days, so it was a little quieter here. But not much is happening anyway, at times FIA and FOTA give a still enigma as to what will now happen in the future, everything.

The idea to refrain from refueling, has still not everything is opened up completely, but obviously wants to keep the tire change. Bridgestone plans to not only once, to move with wooden hoops, which hold an entire race. As it stands, are more burdened in the future, especially the front wheels because they are tracked by the lack of downforce slip more. As we have seen in the grooved tires, new tires put so much that you can lose a race in a round, you remain outside too long. This opens some opportunities in the race strategy.

Formula One: Everything will be different?

The FIA announced today the new rules for Formula One, where known. The cuts are very deep, and partly what it holds for the future in the eye, fans will not agree exactly happy.

The shock of the withdrawal of Honda was probably sponsored, as we have discussed the changes in Formula One. And as is usual in such moments, it was decided some rather odd things. Things that are unusual in financial terms and things that will make the future of Formula One with new challenges. Here, the teams are not so much affected, as the fans.

Formula One: What's Next?

Honda has gone, not a buyer in sight, and if you believe the prophets of doom, of Red Bull, Williams and Mosley, there is another manufacturer that is thinking about an exit. The question remains whether what is happening there, is not good for Formula One at the end.

Ross Brawn is the chance that Australia will go into his team's two cars at the start, with 50 50 It is not at all clear, with which drivers, sponsors and motors you want to go to the start. And the longer the decision regarding the engine drags on, the less likely it becomes that the ex-Honda team ever to go to the start. If 18 cars are, it would therefore not surprising, but some assume that it could also be just 16 minutes. But who stands on the brink?
