NASCAR: Martinsville / FIA GT Zolder / ALMS: Laguna Seca

Six races in the NASCAR Chase Nummero and so we will already be so slowly towards the final. After the somewhat surprising victory by Jeff Burton in Charlotte last weekend, the tip is slightly pushed together, but it's still Jimmie Johnson, who leads the table and the first driver since Cale Yarborough, the 76, 77 and 78 three championships in a row could win. But so far it's not, and especially Jeff Burton something seems to mind. So strong has not seen for a long time to Burton and indeed it could be his last chance at the title.

Formula One: Decision in China?

China is the penultimate race of the Formula One this season and this could decide the championship. Hamilton still leads with five points ahead of Massa and his chances to secure in his second year in Formula One, his first championship are not bad. Unfortunately, the Englishman goes to show nerves, as has been seen in Japan and last year he parked a possible title in the tiny gravel in the pit lane entrance. Since it again this weekend is a (now) light rain risk, you will test for McLaren probably for safety reasons before, how long the rain tires.

NASCAR: Salo wants to clean / F1: fuel stops away?

NASCAR apparently is still interesting for many former Formula One driver. The Finn Mika Salo, many years traveling in the U.S. in the ALMS, was spotted last weekend at Lowe's Speedway. Apparently explores the Finn from even know if there might be a team that has interest in him. I know the sponsorship package of Salo, but the last two years have actually shown clearly that there are few drivers who make the leap from touring or formula cars to NASCAR. Notable exception was here Montoya, whose power they have in light of the problems, the top drivers like Franchitti and Sam Hornish Jr., the higher rate must be.

NASCAR: GM, Dodge & Premiere

I've still not seen the race. Night race at the moment beyond my strength and I hope to look at the summary of today's premiere at, even if one knows that the information provided by NASCAR Media / ESPN picture snippets do not always include the entire race as wirktlich. But see, even without the race to have is already clear that to continue the chase and could be pointed to one of the most exciting title race in recent years. Johnson still leads, but behind him, Biffle and Burton have very little distance. But what are their chances?

Formula One: The plague of the penalties

I've seen over the weekend a little racing, because I had to sleep finally. NASCAR is completely missing me, but for Formula One, it has nevertheless served. I should perhaps make it, because I'm actually more annoyed, even though the race itself so not so bad. Lots of fights, interesting strategies and exciting moments until the end. But then there was this scene at the start and the penalty for Lewis Hamilton, I can not understand. Something is running in Formula One is a tough wrong and now I'm open to any conspiracy theory.

Formula One: Fuji / NASCAR: Lowe's / V8 Supercar: Bathurst

Ahhh - the weekend. In any case, for example in the article very ungrateful I am not in that run all the races this weekend in the night from Saturday to Sunday because I can make Sunday also times what it was supposed to do there, nothing. On the other hand, this is of course a little silly, since it jostling really all races between Saturday midnight and Sunday morning at 09.00 clock. Since you will need a lot of coffee in order to see everything. It starts but only once with the Formula One at Fuji.

NASCAR: Today's / F1: Dates in the night

I'm currently a 16 to 18 hours of work, therefore, come to nothing. Just for the record yesterday, I'm almost a week. Dates are therefore not until tomorrow, because it is (hopefully) a little more relaxed. Here, however, been times that of today and the next night. NASCAR SC Qualifying runs on ESPN Classic in the U.S., no idea if there's something to see. Now it no longer.

Formula One: What is the impact of the financial crisis?

Worldwide, the share prices tumble like a drunk through the area, banks are very halbverstaatlicht or loan pools will collapse and the central banks have very little air to cut interest rates. The Formula One relates to the financial crisis does not directly, at least not for most teams, but indirectly the crisis will also be reflected here with a delay. This of course applies worldwide to all racing series, but because the issues in Formula One are so high, the series hit very starkt. The question is really just who gets caught as the first.

F1 Calendar 2009: Canada missing / BMW decision

This is a bold surprise. The FIA has one of the most popular and best Grand Prix racing in the Formula One calendar is deleted: Canada. The race in Montreal was one of most watched in Europe, which was also the fact that due to the time difference was very handy on Sunday evening. Why the FIA has decided to be me and the mystery of this step, the manufacturer will not enjoy, because the Formula One thus finally retires from the North American continent. The race in Montreal was at least one event over which they could invite their sponsors from the United States. Apparently, the loss is because the teams are on the three-week summer break.

Race of the weekend: DTM & ALMS / BMW drivers confirmed

In addition to the race of the Sprint Cup at Talladega , there was a race that has inspired me over the weekend: the 10 hours of the ALMS. Already last year was the "Petit Le Mans" is a real hammer, but this year we have gone one further. After an extremely exciting 24 H of Le Mans, Audi and Peugeot gave it again properly. It was moved full steam 10 hours and ended with a top of the podium, which was not in the starting lineup.
