NASCAR: Talladega battle hard in

Yesterday's race at Talladega, it had to be boring and wurdes it one either. Two "Big One", half of all chases candidates scrapped their cars and their chances at the championship, Jimmie Johnson saw all the physical states that can be seen in a race and Tony Stewart celebrates his first win of the season and on the huge Super Speedway . Oh yes - and to Goodyear, there was also trouble again. More we can not really put it in a race.

Jimmie Johnson may be yesterday's nerves have been done, as he climbed out of the car after the race. His ordeal began in this race in the first round. He let himself fall for tactical reasons, to be a possible accident in the first part of the race comfortably to watch, but apparently he crossed a little too relaxed around the back, because suddenly the field and thus its wind shadow was gone. He was around 10 km / h was predicted slower than the rest of the world and its surplus rounding. Chad Knaus Crew Chief still talking about a "mysterious power loss", but that was nonsense. Because Johnson had snorted as the field to work, went into the locker with the top 5. But it took a while until he got his lap back. Was done after that, and Johnson was again at the top, it was on lap 69 going on with the accident. Brian Vickers blew lying in second place, the right front tire, which led inevitably to disaster. Nine drivers were able to pack up afterwards, including Kasey Kahne and the second Red Bull with Mike Skinner (list of cars involved: # 1,9,26,38,45,70,83,84). After the race came back into rhythm, but there was always a latent stress field.

There was a lot of jagged pushed, cursed and took the bump drafting excesses that will certainly look at the NASCAR yet. Multiple shaved one inch away another "Big One" over, more than just once, when David Ragan suddenly the line of amazingly fast Montoya crossed that was just pushed by a number of vehicles to the front. Montoya could just dodge Sun But went ahead despite the near-crash to continue, as it would be the last round. It was clear that this could be nothing in the final laps. But what happened next was total chaos.

14 laps before the finish had all gathered Chase candidates forward, because it was all about the win. Carl Edwards, Greg Biffle pushed Regan Smith before him, but also in the curve, which, according to NASCAR should not be. Prompt to put across in almost Ragan Biffle leading position and the disaster took its course. It crashed at corners and ends, you could see was circling and smoldering cars. As the fog you could see the full effects of this "big one", because reading the list of vehicles involved is like a who's who of NASCAR: # 16,17,18,22,28,29,41,42,55 , 78,88,99. The race was stopped for a second time.

The rest, about 15 minutes later took up the race again had to get some respect after the accident most of the route, at least you went down single-file the final laps. This was also the fact that all the draft experts were out of the race and romped on the front only people who have little more experience. Tony Stewart races to you favorite controlled, only David Ragan Regan Smith made another attempt, passed Stewart below the yellow line but what is prohibited.

And Jimmie Johnson? After his day had started so badly, he got lucky again. He escaped two accidents in part by inch, when he bustled past blindly through the tire smoke and was not surprisingly met. Then he thought it best to just hang at the end of the fastest line and the race to sit out there. He was ninth Nevertheless, he was able to extend his lead over Edwards and Biffle is limited. He now leads with 72 points ahead of Edwards, Biffle has 77 points behind. As Jeff Burton finished fourth, he has now re-title chances, because he is five races to just 99 points behind Johnson.

There was criticism of Goodyear again, because there were some blowouts - all on the right side. At worst, it caught Danny Hamlin, which flew in the lead is a right front tire in the curve around the ears. Hamlin hit rock hard sideways into the wall and had to be brought into the hospital. Preliminary diagnosis: examine mild concussion and one has his right ankle. After all punctures Goodyear hectic compared to bar codes of the tire, but came to no result. Ray Evernham, who was invited as an expert at ESPN, suspected that there would be less of Goodyear, as more of a high-pressure tires. Dale Jarrett was again pointed out that due to the very hard bump drafting, a fender can ever come from the tire. At the speeds you want to have no matter how small cracks in the tire.

A crazy race, which incidentally has also seen the most change in leadership in the history of NASCAR. The chase is more interesting as the race moved through something together, at least Burton has again a chance at the title.
Next week at Lowe's Speedway road. Another oval, where it goes right to the point.

I think there have crept some name confusion.

First 14 laps before the end, Edwards turned to driving in front of him Biffle (not Regan Smith) around.
Second On the last lap overtaking Regan Smith (David Ragan) Tony Stewart below the yellow line

Enough bitching. ;) Thanks for your great work Don!

I found the race very unsightly. It would have actually had all the ingredients to be a great race (especially the many lead changes), but when the accumulated damage tires, my fancy went out. We always knew that it would not be too long until the next hanging in the wall. No matter what it is, NASCAR should immediately ensure that the stops on the super speedways for something like this can not really be a habit. The fact that you can do in spite of all precautions hurt, so the example shows Denny Hamlin. Also, I am still of the opinion that Tony Stewart Regan Smith has pushed below the line. Smith was to be with the front of his car beside Stewart's rear, as the runterzog then, why would Smith really the winner.

So I can agree with the previous speaker as in relation Stewart-Smith. If you had not given him the victory, ok. But at the same P18 back? And after what Johnson has said on the PK, you know. Strangely incident.

Just to throw in the times: In the race there was not the most change in leadership. The record is 75, in the race but there were "only" 64 or 65 The record was set was for the most different leaders. So 28 of 43 cars at least 1 lap led, which is approximately 3/4. This should give time for other racing series.

I've just seen, however the finish again, and I think it's clear that Stewart won. He has not pushed Smith down. What's more: When Smith was in the line he had overtaken, although this was not allowed (at the drivers meeting before the race it is always said: no overtaking under the yellow line on a restrictor plate track to no time). And, here comes someone and says again determined that Stewart has gone off the gas, so it looks as though Smith passed him.

Some people think when you see the checkered flag, everything is permitted, but it does not have this rule. It is quite simple: NASCAR makes the rules. Either you accept it, or you must find another racing series.
