The DTM at the Nurburgring, of course, always a very special thing. Even if the DTM will use only the short version of what I've never really understood. Probably do you do that, however, so the stands look full, and the audience not running. The week I was quite surprised when I "Motorsport News" in a rather critical interview (not online) with ITR boss Hans-Werner Aufrecht could read. The author, Marcus Lacroix describes in the introduction of the race in Zandvoort and Lausitzring as "sleeping pills" and begins the interview by asking, "What's going wrong." The first response of maintenance is:
"This year we have offered for the first time for the audience to understand operationally race ..."
So one can also declare a lack of overtaking. If all go well in a row, it's not as confusing for the audience. Now you have to take the DTM at least one point in protection, since the technical regulations was nevertheless knitted so that the power density of the car very, very narrow. If you are traveling with similar material, it is difficult to stop with the overtaking. In the small cups brand that works better, because here the quality of the driver is still very unstable and it also goes a little more contact. In the DTM, the quality of drivers is so high that there is little difference here. Then there is the often mentioned delicate aerodynamics, overtaking even easier. There will be significant changes in 2010 already. Until then, the problem remains, however, I understand and I do not quite, why do not you, einbremst in the WTCC, fast cars using a weight handicap. But as manufacturers have something against it.
It is in the championship this year very closely. Five drivers who are under 14 points, and there are still five races to go. That is a significant result and how easy it is sometimes grown in the qualification, you've seen this year already. Accordingly, the weekend should be exciting. At least partly for the spectators at ringside. Because of the Tour de France, the start of the race moves to 17:35 clock. The last real race ends at 14.00 clock in between times is 20 minutes of "World of race cars." Nothing else. The audience at the ring, it is annoying, as is known, it takes a long time to get the ring back after the race comes off. Why then the program begins at 10:00 am and it's not just clock moves one hour later, I do not know. But that's nothing compared to the ARD. The transmission has announced the launch clock for 17:48, so about 10 minutes after launch. It may be that you have corrected this. Or rather, I hope so.
The F3 Euro Series is on the move and Nico Hulkenberg, the air is thin. At the last race at Zandvoort he was able to win a race, but after the race Stelte found that a car was too light and three kilos of victory was gone. Apparently the fire extinguisher he had flown around the ears, but that probably just thinks the team itself. Hulkenberg has now 14 points behind Mortara missing, but is still good for second place, because Mäki on him only five points. Anyway I'm pretty sure that Hulkenberg and Maki are two that will change in the GP2. Mortara may lead in the Championship, but except for the victory in Pau, he has only just hoarded cleverly. Mäki, van der Zande and Hulkenberg at least two victories. Montara runs but very clever, would rather keep on the edge of the podium and is thus mostly in the second race relatively far forward, while leaving the competition against each other's wings. But experience has shown that GP2 team boss rather are looking for drivers quickly and make a mistake here and there, as one of the only reliable.
IRL - Edmonton
The confusion surrounding the transfer is now resolved. There is no World Feed, Premiere will not or can not do for legal reasons, U.S. feed, thus leaving only the stream at indycar.com have the race along with preliminary reports. Stream stuck before, but has a relatively good quality. Otherwise, check times before the race starts in the chat, maybe even dive on other free streams.
The race itself is an Alt-load in the acquisition, which includes the race in Long Beach, and Australia. It came out of the contracts do not, so we had to drive here. In addition, the formula cars in Canada are quite popular. At the last race in 2007 came over the three days together at least 165,000 visitors. It is also the first track, where the Champ Car teams have an advantage because the IRL is not driven here. This could wirblen the field properly mixed. With this, Paul Tracy, who has put together with IRL owner Tony George a package for this one race. Tracy is indeed a Canadian crowd puller, but I do not think he will break something. New team, unknown car - which is difficult. The track itself is a Flugplatzkzurs with plenty of space, but also some tight corners.
WTCC - Brands Hatch
The WTCC stops in England, and travels the long way at Brands Hatch. Certainly one of the better tracks on the calendar of the championship and a circuit where it really comes close to. Only the initial phase always provides hilarity and massive upscale paint exchange. The latter seems to be something anyway, where the WTCC drivers have fun. Since the BWM have problems, they try to stop it with a more vigorous driving, what the championship gets increasingly well. Nearly all the race were correspondingly varied, though still far too short. It would be nice too, if you would proceed finally to keep the start times for every race in Europe the same, but the times around € sport pushes again to match the other program highlights. This is more than inconvenient, and helps the series not sure. Just remember that this weekend, both times amazing race close together. As the days mentioned, Volvo has a guest appearance in the WTCC and one can only hope that Sweden will next year fully appreciating.
Classic Race - Silverstone
MotorsTV surprised with a brand new thing. It transmits nearly the entire weekend at the legendary Grand Prix and Classic Car Meet at Silverstone. And indeed live. It's like the Nurburgring Oldtimer GP by early August, a one time thing, the race to be driven there are, however, to a championship, which is traveling throughout the year at various events. Driving is, inter alia, in the following classes:
- FIA Historic Formula One
Historic Formula One to 85 years of construction 66 includes
- Group C
The beautiful cars from the Le Mans race in the 80s
- Grand Prix Masters
Not to be confused with the Old Masters. Here F1 car ride from the 60 who have no Ford V8 DFV in the neck.
- HGPCA pre-1966 Grand Prix
Again Formula One. Model years of the '30s to 1966
- Masters Top Hat Pre-66 Saloon
Touring Cars to 1966
- Woodcote Trophy
Sports cars and prototypes by the end of the 50s
- World Sportscar Masters
Le Mans and endurance prototype until 1974.
- Historic Road Sports
Touring cars from the 70s.
Add to that a couple of smaller races and series. A very nice touch and one can only hope that the sound is true :)
And what else?
Unfortunately, completely under the table, the BTCC race at Oulton Park falls Ironically, this weekend to crash on the Tour de France, which also runs on ITV4. This is annoying because Oulton Park so now the best most exciting tracks in England heard.
I am from the Sunday times online two days because I need a break, and depended on the land. If anything urgent happens, it goes on Tuesday.
