Tip: Stewart press conference live today from 20.30 on clock speed.

Once the cat is now out of the bag, and it is known that Tony Stewart will open his own team, you can ask yourself the question: Why does Stewart mean? And why at Haas / CNC, and not, for example, at Petty Enterprises? The sheer numbers of Haas / CNC are disastrous. Both cars are outside the top 35 and must qualify for each race, the team comes despite Hendrick engines and chassis to the spot and the führere owner of the racing team, Gene Haas sits just up to October 2009, a prison sentence for tax evasion. No conditions to bring forward a racing stable.

On the other side much further back, it will not go. It is clear that Tony Stewart for years work to ensure that his own team in the Sprint Cup to have. He has been a team at the "World of Outlaws" series and USAC, an IRL version. Both he leads with the support for using Chevorlet / GM. Stewart has won everything in the U.S., there was to win. He's IRL champion (albeit without Indy 500 victory), he has won two NASCAR champion (excluding the Daytona 500, Daytona 400, but with twice the Indy 400) and he is 37 years old. When asked what the next ten years, perhaps, make his career is quite berichtig. To work from team to team? Bored and quit? The decision to open a separate team has probably a lot to do with the question of what might motivate him even more. Stewart now has the experience, money and the will to try it myself.

On the other hand, how many start-ups in recent years, have successfully established? Just two examples: Evernham Racing has founded by the legendary, former crew chief of Jeff Gordon has tried it and was könnne enter at least some success thanks to Kasey Kahne. Michael Waltrip Racing is fighting for survival, however. Other teams that had come with a lot of money into the series and had taken a team, have now disappeared, for example. Ginn Racing.

The question will be what people gather for Stewart to come off. Greg Zipadelli that he can not at first take would be a big blow. Zipadelli has a contract with JGR and not let him go for good reasons, because Zipadelli to make Joey Logano in the Sprint Cup success. How long Zipadellis contract but is still running, is beyond my knowledge. May well be that he can change the end of the 2009 season about Stewart. Chevrolet is also untersützen Stewart. They're glad to have taken away one of their draft horses from Toyota and will surely appeal to Hendrick in a good word for Stewart, it also comes from this site help.

I think these are the chances of Stewart, in the first two or three years to be successful, as very low. He walks with a cart at the start, he needs to qualify only once (unless that team death goes to NASCAR on) and I'm curious, what about his motivation when he at one year to 30th place rumkrebst. Tony Stewart One can only press the thumb.

NASCAR - News
- DEI is not in the headlines. Off Mark Martin, U.S. Army gone, toying with a Bass Pro's departure, Menard is brought in connection with Yates and Martin Truex Jr. has not yet extended his contract. If the sponsor loose Amirola Aric and Regan Smith, who is also a sponsor for 2009. There are rumors that Smith has given you only a reprieve for the first five races of the season. Then, if no sponsor is there to make the team once sealed.

- Jimmy Elledge, crew chief for Ganassi dismissed, takes on the Red Bull # 84 AJ Allmendinger. Good reinforcement for Red Bull to the hear the argument that you could open either a third team, so you can use Scott Speed, or Allmendinger again goes back to the IRL.

- The Silly Season is more exciting. Set up a fourth JGR car? RCR makes something like that? Where does Truex, where Newman, while Montoya?

F1 - Alonso to Ferrari?
There is growing evidence that Alonso is sitting in a 2009 Ferrari. Supposedly, Luca di Montezemolo, eh not a fan of Felippe Massa after the race at Silverstone a fit of rage got. The times of Massa later ends up is not so much the problem. He was well aware of the countless spin of the Brazilian team, in his eyes that look can be simply impossible. While Raikkonen, despite incorrect tire choice after all, still went on to score a fourth place in Massa know nothing happened. At least nothing straight. The problem for Ferrari are not even the Italian media, which, after they had received the lower jaw folded down in the face of the power of Massa back up, call for a commitment by Alonso downright. The problem is probably the sponsors who want to be reluctant to see the car of a man who is clearly not in the rain. Something you can afford at Force India, because you get on the road even more TV time, but not with Ferrari. The reputation of Massa at Ferrari, eh undulated always easy, probably reached a low point. He would have been the next three races in the pouring rain to win after he started from the rear to the back to iron straight.

At the same time Fernando Alonso was leaning back, relax, and announced that he would decide before the late summer of nothing. Late summer is September and Grand Prix which takes place in mid September? Exactly. Monza. The race that the Ferrari driver pairing preference is known. Everything points to a commitment of Alonso, but as simple as it gets.

Raikkonen this year is not a paragon of reliability. After all, there is the small chance that might end the year Massa for the title. It stands as silly when Massa would be champion, and he had been previously laid off would have been. After the Italian Grand Prix, but only four more races to follow, since one could then see more clearly. But I can well imagine that we've got used to the Italians on Raikkonen as world championship candidates already. Alone by 2009 to go with a pair of riders to the starting line, which may consist of two double world champions.

And what else?

I can well imagine that the "new" team may have good chances. would be especially with newman stewart and ryan maybe two really good rider on board. it lacks eg Evernham.

still small ne note: USAC is indeed the ne open-wheeler series, but all compare with the irl, is somewhat far-fetched ... the car and stretch (nt dirttracks) have been significantly different.
