The rain a Formula One race always good, is by now well known, so why should be have been different at Silverstone. Solbald it gets wet, it seems all the laws of Formula One to be overridden. You can drive close to curves in a row, you can do several lines at a distance and saw his driving and the chaff from the wheat. The last one could see particularly beautiful.
One wonders in between before, what makes the difference between a good and a fantastic driver. And discover how you can get. Yesterday was then again so is a possibility. What Hamilton was there at the top was spectacular, even if some one could certainly due to the fact that his home GP and he had caught a good day. But as far as I've noticed that he was with Alonso, Heidfeld and Barrichello one of the few who offered no spin, but were only here and there for a minute beside the tracks. And he took time from which others could only dream of. Almost 70 seconds was his lead at the end of Heidfeld, with Barrichello were had 82 seconds and the rest of the field lapped him. He did not have fewer stops and he also survived the heavy rain on intermediate tires. He had no advantages over the other - he was simply in a class by itself. For a 23 year old a terrific performance and the race could be in the World Cup, indeed, a turning point.
First, because the race Hamilton will give a ton of self-consciousness that he is the next race carry around with them, partly because McLaren obviously has caught up with Ferrari. The race at Magny Cours was a fluke, Canada did not go well but Silverstone had already shown what happens. Ferrari are expected given the rapid rates that come to the end of the season, all the alarm bells ringing.
Anyway Ferrari - I noticed yesterday that Jean Todt was not there yesterday. And then it went back at Ferrari haywire. It was the first pit stop, besides the decision not to change the tires, not even grow on the dung of Ferrari. They had seen surprised that Renault faster with the nibbled at intermediate distance abtrockender suddenly two seconds was. And then made the wrong decision. But why was influenced by Alonso, is beyond me. Raikkonen was at that time the fastest man on track. It would have been a change might not win much, but lost nothing, as the Finn was already a lot to put pressure on Hamilton. The decision was completely wrong, Raikkonen remarked already in the pit lane exit when he was just standing Hamilton. The world champion finished fourth at the end or was already almost a sensation when you consider that he was long the only one who was bitten on the intermediates on the way, after Alonso and Renault had realized their mistake and still came inside. But after all, Raikkonen went even something like a race.
Felippe Massa was handed in there was unbelievable. Six are for a spin, will be the world champion, just a minimum of five spin too much. I was thinking during the race after the fourth spin, something that would have on the car. Maybe set too low and therefore hydroplaning, a problem in differential or whatever. The more astonished I was after the race, as both he himself and the Ferrari team admitted with a shrug, that it was probably the driver. Sure - it would probably keep all of this with reads on demand, an F1 car on intermediates in the rain on the track. But we also get less than 5 million euros a year and strive to be the best in the world. Championship lead or not - Massa has dismantled yesterday in a way that one would hardly dared him to. It should be noticed also Ferrari, Alonso said to have even been under contract for 2010, and it probably after the race yesterday, a year ahead would be happy. Would not surprise me if you have the Italians yesterday switched internally to Raikkonen.
Massa was the one who has turned most often, but at least he has remained on the track. Besides the lousy performance of Ferrari I was especially surprised by Force India and of Rosberg. Both pilots were FI yesterday completely off the string. Fisichella that not one of the best pilots rain is unknown, but a little more I would have expected. Sutil was just a little unlucky. The duel with Bourdais was important, so was blocking ok too. That he makes a puddle - well. But when Fisico had longer be there. If you like Honda would simply set times on "heavy wets", then points would certainly have been possible.
(?) For power Nico Rosberg, especially his stupid fault, as he Trulli back on it went really has his father says it all: "My son is stupid ... It can be a big mirror, buy in order to admire it." With all due respect - Rosberg has been some races going to ruin his reputation. And do so sustainably. Monaco, Silverstone now Canada. So many front wings can not count even more, he has broken down. It has been obvious for some races that he is dissatisfied with the team, but if that means that he gets bored, it's not a good sign, but reminds me more of Ralf Schumacher. This raises not just his Martkwert.
All credit must go out, of course, raise Rubens Barrichello, Honda with the lame of the right tire choice forward beat and showed that he can continue on a good day are among the best drivers in the field. It would not surprise me if Barichello still is a season, you should not get Alonso. Another good way of course was Nick Heidfeld. It is to me a little too early to speak of a "turning point" because the race now so things went differently than usual, but it is clear that he will better handle the car. The Mario Theissen demonstratively after the race at the interview presented alongside Heidfeld probably shows that the desire to keep Heidfeld is very large.
In the end, the realization that the World Cup is wide open again. After half time it's practically all over again and even Nick Heidfeld, at 12 points behind even an outside chance. Five drivers who are within 12 points. When there was such a thing before? The season should be exciting with every race.
NASCAR - Daytona
I do not want to reveal too much. The winner will be aware, but how it came about, you can get. So take some analysis of the race shortened to no fun.
Again a good race in the Sprint Cup, even when referring to all the action on the last 40 laps. And if someone like Kyle Busch on the front end is, although he almost in between a round of lay back, then that means one thing for the rest of the season: Who will beat Kyle Busch? Time is to win three races in the series already so tight one thing to have but necessary moment the luck is completely different. Kyle Busch has leased the speed and the happiness in the moment and the projection, with whom he is going into the Chase, is now so great that he almost can allow a conservative strategy. But in NASCAR's also just before half time and there may still happen. You know Tony Stewart that his season is only just go, Dale Earnhardt and Jeff Burton are not as bad. But missing all the luck that Kyle Busch has just.
TNT tried again this year, some other form of transmission. Instead of constantly advertising to pop into the race. they made a "split screen" where you sent a registered evaporated to 4:3 16:9. The rind is used beams in order to run advertising in such a way that only a few centimeters occupied, but continued to run the race in the normal picture. Great idea, very well done. In the "real" advertising one was now at the yellow light phase, and then always with the message, how long would a commercial break. One would wish that all the stations are doing. But one drawback was the thing - the main part of the advertising budget was probably the Coca-Cola and so were a) once all drivers interviewed, who are under contract with Coca Cola and they were always a Coke into my hand. A few played with, others do not, however, was at Michael Waltrip, I'm not sure if it matters now seriously or she takes on her arm. In his interview, he tried at the same time a huge bottle of Coke Zero and Mirko to hold in one hand, which was again unintentionally funny. Coke Zero here, where Coke Zero - which reminded almost everything at some satire.
But TNT has increased this year. It is clear that after the transmission was still plugged FOX, but comment and experts are well chosen and most of all you have lots of fun at the show. The interviews are informative, if sometimes harsh on the border of the comic. The connection to SpeedTV always works, Larry McReynolds to give more room this year was a very good decision and it would not be bad if you Wally Dallenbach against Larry Mc. also exchanges in the Kommetatorenbox.
IRL - Watkins Glen
Even so, a race that was only in the last third to get really exciting, although the race in the previous rounds, was not bad. After starting the driver but had obtained their positions quickly and it was a tight squeeze, but static. The last 20 laps but had it in himself. After Ernesto Viso had rausgerüpelt his colleagues Meira, there were yellow. The Caution was in the middle of the last pit stop, which would define the current order on its head. The previous leader, Briscoe and Dixon (of the ESPN commentators in the world feed jokingly as "disco" together) were so for third place, while forward Darren Manning in Foyt team took first place again. All expected a chase on Manning than during the caution period later crashed. Somehow were Milka Duno and Graham Rahal came into the enclosure and parked now in the guard rail. After watching all the jokes were cracked about Duno, it crashed again. This time, Scott Dixon and Ryan Briscoe turned the New Zealanders had traveled back clean. Nothing happened, but for both it was called at the end of the field to start. And suddenly there was Darren Manning alone up front, however, followed by Ryan Hunter Raey and Tony Kanaan. When you first restart Manning had a sensational start, but then flew after less than a round one and again the whole issue started again. On the second restart duped Hunter Raey the leaders who threw just not consistently Genung the door. However - Raey then submitted a pace, following the Manning could not. It would have been difficult for Manning to keep his opponents over six laps behind. But at least he kept the second place.
In Watkins Glen was then again clearly who understands what the driving. Have disappointed me, Marco Andretti and Graham Rahal. Both were never on, even if to say that the AGR team was set up at the weekend not so good, and not just Rahal sits in a top team. But when I hear that you want to push Marco Andretti in the GP2, then I can say is - let the better times. He will have no joy in Europe if he is blown away by "no-names" such as di Grassi, Conway and Valsecchi.
And what else?
Who needed a fairly new F1 car needs -> here can get a buy
Preview coming on the weekend: DTM at Zandvoort, BTCC at Snetterton, IRL, Nashville, the ALMS awakened from sleep and the summer driving at Lime Rock and NASCAR in Chicago.
