NASCAR - Infinion / IRL - Iowa

NASCAR - Infinion
The NASCAR race at the racetrack are always a bit tricky. The rumor that most NASCAR drivers do not drive around really good right to correct, though not so completely, but there are actually a number of drivers that come on the racetrack, not really clear. Dale Earnhardt Jr., for example, one of them. He counts! Infinion and Watkins Glen is not one of his favorite tracks on here and was never particularly good move. But there are so few Sprint Cup aces, here are doing well. Besides the usual suspects such as Montoya, Franchitti, Hornish and Robby Gordon, it is mainly Jeff Gordon, Mark Martin and Tony Stewart, you should watch this special. Kyle Busch should also not be forgotten. He has impressed me with his appearance in the Nationwide difficult in Mexico. I would not have believed him, that he is fast on the racetrack. But - of course in Mexico it is also more likely to receive driving skills. There are few tight corners, the long drawn out, fast curves its more prone to oversteer are riding style. How is that on the narrow and winding and slippery course in California, he will have to prove.

As usual, there are several "guest driver", ie those who are hired only for such strange courses with right-handers. Special thanks to: Max "Mad Max" Papis, the ever-popular Boris Said, Scott Preutt (replacing Reed Sorenson), which I rather unknown Brian Simo, Marcos Ambrose (otherwise Nationwide) and Ron Fellows, of Regan Smith replaced for this race. All those who do not sit in a top 35 cars have to qualify so the speed. Of these there have the best chance: Boris Said, Scott Pruett and Ron Fellows. Marcus Ambrose would like to count, I used to time the former champion of the Australian V8 Supercars familiar with small classes, but the team at Wood Brothers is not exactly in great shape, so that could be more than marginally.

Here, the quality of the course is very important to track where overtaking is very difficult. Actually, it's just before the close links (Turn 4) and the hairpin before the start / finish (Turn 11). Just you sit like a little bit bumpy sometimes beside the car in front and it crashes frequently. The NASCAR on circular courses really knows no "local yellows" if one can go on and turns, they still okay, if not one progresses, the pace car will be sent out. And why are the races both here and in Watkins Glen, mostly ones that are decided in the pits. Last year, Montoya, who was really far back, flushed to the front because he was once fill up later. He escaped with bone-dry tank and some rustic defensive maneuvers then ales at the finishing line.

The course itself is really not one of my favorites. As mentioned, it is narrow, has few overtaking opportunities, making her a little. Drive Risch he is not bad, especially the uphill passage of Turn 2 and 3 has it all. In addition, is always a lot of sand on the track. The run-off areas are dusty, who was out shortly, kilos of dirt shoveled onto the track, which is the next driver of interesting puzzles. Why here and not in the NASCAR Mid-Ohio or anywhere else takes off, I'm not quite clear. The race, not just for her near the car-friendly city famed San Francisco, is not a crowd puller at which you drive anyway already twice removed in Los Angeles, nearly eight hours. Nevertheless, the races are exciting and well worth seeing, but unfortunately for Germany very late. Due to time difference, the race will start not before 23.15 clock and takes a good and happy for up to three hours.

IRL-Iowa
The race of the IRL takes place in spite of the flood disaster in the state. Is it possible to have different opinions about it. The course is fairly new in Iowa. He was only in 2006 and eröffent is - well - a little dull. The 0.8 miles oval with progressive banking, but has only between 12 and 14 ° degrees. The IRL cars is that enough to be fast. In just 17 seconds a lap here is completed. Since it runs over 250 laps, but at least the promise of some action, because this is actually outstripped the time.

The IRL teams will even have the edge here, but because the course is so new, and you could also just one race here, the knowledge advantage is not so large as to other routes. It may therefore well be that it finally gives the front a few surprises. At the front is not. Something has been found at Ganassi, because as good as the go, it is somewhat surprising. If Penske himself only with difficulty comes afterwards, it will mean something. But nevertheless a good opportunity for the ex-CC-team their sponsors can show you something.

And what else?
I'm a pretty spectacular photo stumbled. It dates from the last year of the Porsche Cup race in the BTCC at Thruxton. Kevin Burt was the driver who got out of the wreck unhurt. The entire accident still looks hair-raising, but not what is happening.
