Atlanta NASCAR race / Champ Car series files for insolvency

Update: Weather in Atlanta is ok. At least until now.

On weekends all three championships are on the road. Driving is on one of the fastest oval in the country. Atlanta is 1.5 miles long, but has 24 degree banking and the curves are a little softer. She had previously been considered "Hendrick track." Gordon and Johnson have scored at least seven victories here. But last week you have to see that Ford is miles ahead, oil cap or not. Even if Edwards has had a massive both lead to the low oil temperature, one should not forget Matt Kenseth and Greg Biffle, who are also run for the win and not the oil cap was missing after the race. Otherwise, one should expect the usual suspects again. Especially junior, the prices are so high speed and one notes that he would rather yesterday than today would notch up a victory.

A thick line through the program could make the weather. Right now it's raining in Atlanta and twine according to weather predictions, the change is no longer present. Tomorrow it looks as bad, the race is on Sunday but not according to the prediction risk. May well be that Sunday again we see a double or even triple header.

Warning: This weekend begins the summer season in the U.S.! The clocks go forward on Saturday night for an hour, which means that we only have five-hour time difference between Atlanta and here!

Champ Car - The final end
As was announced yesterday, the series has been reported in mid-February insolvent. You have probably seen far before the deal with the IRL the store already going down the drain and now ensures that you get more out eingermaßen clean. Many assets have been sold to the IRL, the rest will be auctioned. Then the series is completed and has done himself. What happens to the naming rights is still uncertain. It is not clear that Tony George has bought, or whether they remain with the former owners of the CC. It was clear from the beginning that they had the C drive into bankruptcy because it is the only way out of current contracts with the track owners and other parties out. This then ends a piece of American motorsports history.

And what else?
The V8 Supercars at Eastern Creek are on the road. A very nice track, as was seen recently at the site of the A1 series again. It provides for at least more varied than the street circuit race in Adelaide. And it is also safer.

The MotoGP starts their new season at the weekend, the Daytona 200, the AMA series.
